Germany's wild north - Schleswig-Holstein
Director: Uwe Anders
Germany's northernmost federal state is heavily characterised by agriculture, but surprises with an unexpected diversity of species: dramatic deer fights, short-eared owls in mating flight, lizards hatching from tiny eggs, shy adders making love and gigantic flocks of starlings.
Animal filmmaker Uwe Anders spent over two years travelling through Schleswig-Holstein for his documentary. The result is a surprising and very special nature portrait of Germany's wild north.
