Die Bayerische Kurzohrmaus

Die Bayerische Kurzohrmaus

Director: Herbert Ostwald

The Bavarian short-eared mouse is one of the rarest animal species in the world. First discovered in the Alps in 1962, it has been considered lost in Bavaria ever since. A team of researchers led by the almost 90-year-old discoverer is searching for the rodents in the wild. And only three specimens from Tyrol live in Innsbruck Zoo. Attempts are being made to breed them there. A race against time begins - against extinction on our doorstep.
