Pretty wild bees

Pretty wild bees

Director: Jan Haft

For thousands of years it was our honey supplier, perfectly adapted to the flora and climate of Central Europe: The dark bee. But in the 1970s they disappeared from Germany. The film shows - in scenes that have never been filmed before - what life is like in a wild beehive and how the 'wild animal honey bee' once lived in our forests before beekeepers began to turn it into the smallest domestic animal in the world. A life in close contact with birds, bats, insects, trees and flowering plants.
