The North Frisian Islands
Directors: Heike Grebe, Michael Riegler
It's not just storm surges that keep changing the North Frisian Islands. The increasing warming of the North Sea is causing “underwater globalization”. Beaches and even the Wadden Sea are in danger of being “drowned” by rising sea levels. And people are also using the islands more and more intensively and changing them. The film meets animals that live successfully in the grip of the forces of nature, such as gray seals, snake needles and ghost crabs, but also those who could lose the battle against the consequences of the changes.
