Rosie Koch, born 1970 in Balingen, studied biology in Mainz, Jena and Tübingen after graduating from high school. During an internship in Ludwigsburg, she learned AVID editing, camera work and image processing. During her doctoral thesis in St. Louis, USA, on naked mole rats in Kenya, she produced several short animal documentaries, some of which won awards. Another internship at Story House Productions in Berlin was followed by a 3-year employment at Marco Polo Film AG in Heidelberg as a researcher and director. In 2010 she founded her own nature film production company Nona Naturedocx. Since then, mostly in collaboration with her partner, cameraman Roland Gockel, the director and producer has created award-winning nature and animal films as well as nature and animal protection reports for German and French public television.
