Knock, Knock - A Woodpecker's World
Directors: Uwe Müller
They knock, they carve, they drum. Woodpeckers are the greatest builders in the bird world. It doesn’t matter whether it is a great spotted woodpecker or a green one, or a black one – they all build more holes than they need themselves. For the benefit of tits, pigeons, pygmy owls, squirrels and other cave dwellers. In order to convince partners, woodpeckers drum at the highest frequency. And in search for the best resonance, they sometimes even knock on metal. Great spotted woodpeckers are open to new things when choosing their place of residence. Woodpecker holes in isolated house facades cause resentment among houseowners and quarrels among other squatters: Is the room still free?
